La Barneby Gates casa produttrice di carte da parati è fondata dalla ex Editor di Vogue Living, Vanessa Barneby, e dall'artista, Alice Gates.

Disegnano tutte loro carte da parati presso il loro studio nello Wiltshire. Queste sono stampate secondo le tradizionali tecniche di stampa rimaste ancora in vita in Gran Bretagna.

Si tratta di carte da parati che richiamano il gusto tipicamente inglese con citazioni alle idee classiche rivisitate in chiave contemporanea.

"Talvolta incorporiamo sottili finiture metalliche e spesso anche un tocco di umorismo ironico, quindi è necessario sempre guardarle due volte......"

Barneby Gates was founded by ex Vogue Living Editor, Vanessa Barneby, and artist, Alice Gates.

We design all of our own wallpapers at our studio in Wiltshire, and they're printed at one of the few remaining print works in the UK still employing traditional printing techniques.

They are wallpapers with a quintessentially English feel, giving classical ideas a contemporary twist.

We incorporate subtle metallic finishes and often a wry touch of humour, so you need to look twice...

Carolyn Quatermaine, eteree creazioni tessili....

Carolyn Quartermaine è nata in Inghilterra e ha vissuto sia in Olanda che in Francia prima di stabilirsi in Inghilterra all'età di 17 anni, quando ha iniziato i suoi studi artistici. Lei vive ora a Londra e nel sud della Francia. E' produttrice di una linea omonima di tessuti - le sue creazioni sono eteree, ariose e vivaci.  Lei non ha paura di mescolare modelli e stili, e anche se sono disegni forti, hanno sempre un tocco di grazia. Tra i suoi committenti  Baccarat, Escada, Hermes e Louis Vuitton.


Carolyn Quartermaine was born in England and lived in both Holland and France before settling back in England at the age of 17, when she began her art studies.  She is now based in London and among many talents, has an eponymous fabric line.  She’s not afraid to mix patterns and styles and although they are strong designs, they have an almost gingerly touch. On top of her achievements, she has also designed for Baccarat, Escada, Hermés and Louis Vuitton.

Melissa White, decoratrice d'interni basa il suo lavoro su diverse influenze ed è in continua evoluzione.  E' conosciuta per la riproduzione di dipinti murali e di tessuti dipinti in stile elisabettiano.
Ama invecchiare le sue creazioni mediante cracking. Prende le distanze dal nuovo e dalla produzione di massa, aggiungendo come lei la chiama "la patina del tempo" ad ogni suo lavoro.

Melissa draws on diverse and ever changing influences for her designs and is best known for reproducing Elizabethan wall paintings and painted cloths.

Her signature style is to age and distress her paintwork by cracking, washing out and rubbing back her work to distance it from the new and the mass produced, adding as she calls it "The patination of time".
